RAPID CITY --- The South Dakota School of Mines has released the names of the 2010 Hall of Fame induction class. The names of the inductees were announced at the SD Mines athletics banquet held recently. The honorees will enter the Hall of Fame Oct. 2 at a banquet during "M" Day in the Christensen Hall of Fame Room after the homecoming football game.
Hardrock Club Hall of Fame Inductees for 2010
Women's basketball: Erin Cihak (IE 1994) - She was an outstanding guard for the Lady Hardrocker teams in the early 90's and was selected SDIC Conference MVP in her senior year. Cihak is 20th on the all-time scoring list with 1,011 points.
Men's basketball: Jeff Pfalzgraf (CHEME 1985) - He was part of one of the greatest eras in Hardrocker basketball history that begin during his junior year in 1983. Pfalzgraf was an SDIC All-conference and NAIA All-District performer and finished his career 5th all-time scorer with 1,721 points.
Volleyball: Lori (Schleusener) Whiting (MET E 1989) - Lori was a key member of 4 consecutive SDIC Championship volleyball teams from 1985 to 1989. She owns single season record for assisted blocks with 107 and is in the top ten for four other single season marks.
Football: Mark Baracani (MET E 1987) One of the great linebackers in Hardrocker football history. He was an NAIA Honorable mention All-American and SDIC All-Conference and NAIA All-District selection. He led the team in tackles his junior year with 121 and in interceptions with 4 and his senior year recorded a team leading 137 tackles.
Track & CC: Dave Roberts (EE 1990) Roberts holds eight individual track championships set at conference or district meets and holds school records for the 110 HH and the 400 M IH. Was selected as an NAIA All-American in the high hurdles in 1990 and was a two time NAIA Academic All-American.
Team: 1984-1988 Volleyball teams - These teams captured SDIC Conference Championships and were coached by Barb Felderman. The teams posted an incredible 51-1 record in conference play during that span. The team record for wins of 40 was set during the 1985 and 1986 seasons.
