
BUTTE, Mont. --- The South Dakota School of Mine women's volleyball team split a pair of matches Saturday on Day 2 on the Montana Tech Volleyball Tournament in Butte, Mont.
After dropping two games on the first day of tournament, the Hardrockers bounced back nicely with a convincing win over the University of Montana-Western 3-0, before coming up short to a solid Montana Tech squad, falling, 3-0.
After four matches, the Lady Hardrockers end the weekend with a 1-3 overall record.
"This weekend was about learning lessons and pushing ourselves to be the best team that we can be in 2010," said Hardrocker head volleyball coach Tiffany Mastin-McCambell. "We showed a lot of poise and played very well at times. We will only continue to improve with further experience."
The Hardrockers defeated University of Montana, 25-20, 25-16, 25-20, before falling to Montana Tech, 25-15, 25-9, 25-20.
The Lady Hardrockers are back in action next weekend at the University of Sioux Falls Tournament in Sioux Falls.
